- 顿咳，中医病名。小儿时期感受时行邪毒引起的肺系时行疾病，临床以阵发性痉挛咳嗽，咳后有特殊的鸡啼样吸气性吼声为特征。本病因其咳嗽特征又名“顿呛”、“顿嗽”、“鹭鸶咳”；因其具有传染性，故又称“天哮呛”、“疫咳”。顿咳好发于冬春季节，以5岁以下小儿最易发病，年龄愈小，则病情大多愈重，10岁以上则较少罹患。病程愈长，对小儿身体健康影响愈大，若不及时治疗，可持续2-3个月以上。典型的顿咳与西医学百日咳相符。
