- 高热惊厥是指小儿在呼吸道感染或其他感染性疾病早期，体温升高>=39℃时发生的惊厥，并排除颅内感染及其它导致惊厥的器质性或代谢性疾病。主要表现为突然发生的全身或局部肌群的强直性或阵挛性抽搐，双眼球凝视、斜视、发直或上翻，伴意识丧失。高热惊厥分为单纯性高热惊厥和复杂性高热惊厥两种。各年龄期（除新生儿期）小儿均可发生，以6个月至4岁多见，单纯性高热惊厥愈后良好，复杂性高热惊厥愈后则较差。
