- 目赤是指眼结膜充血，俗称火眼，多由于风火、肝火或阴虚火旺所致。常见于中医学的暴风客热、天行赤眼、天行赤眼暴翳、白睛溢血等。古代医家认为目赤有三，一曰风助火郁于上，二曰火盛，三曰燥邪伤肝。戴复庵云：目赤无非血雍肝经所致
